Two vehicles collided along a major road in Baltimore County resulting in a chain reaction crash and multiple injuries. According to a CBS Baltimore news report, the car crash occurred along York Road between Shawan and Schilling roads. Officials say one of the vehicles may have been speeding when it struck another resulting in an eight-car pileup. Two of the vehicles ended up on their sides. Emergency crews took six people to local hospitals, but none of the injuries appear to have been life threatening.
Whenever someone is injured in a Maryland car accident, it must be determined what caused the crash, who was responsible, and how it could have been prevented. If the victim’s injury was caused by someone else’s negligence, he or she may be able to pursue financial support from the at-fault driver. However, accident investigations often become complex when a number of parties are involved in a multi-vehicle crash.
In such cases, it is important for victims to refrain from speaking with insurance companies or attorneys for other parties. Gather as much evidence as possible at the scene. Speak with witnesses who saw what happened and get their contact information. Do not rush into a settlement or sign anything that could compromise your personal health or financial information.
Do contact an experienced Maryland personal injury lawyer who can help you receive compensation for damages, such as medical expenses, lost wages, hospitalization and rehabilitation costs, and pain and suffering. A knowledgeable attorney will also be able to explain how your own auto insurance policy might apply in cases where at-fault parties are uninsured or underinsured.
