Winners of the Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties designated driver contest were announced on April 22, 2013. The program was held during the annual Tiki Bar opening on April 19 and 20. As reported by thebaynet.com, the traffic safety program was sponsored by Anheuser Bush and Bob Hall, LLC in cooperation with the Maryland State Police, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, and the St. Mary’s and the Calvert County Community Traffic Safety Program.
The winning tickets were drawn at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office by Mike Evans, Calvert County Sherriff, Susan Fischer, Evidence Property Manager, and Richard Hall with Bob Hall, LLC. Prizes awarded were won by three people who registered as designated drivers during the Tiki Bar opening celebrations.
First place prize was $300 and a Tiki Bar gift certificate. Second place was $200 and a Tiki Bar gift certificate. Third place was $100 and a gift certificate. The first place winner was Janet Stone from California, Maryland. Second place winner was Haley Kleeman from Clements, and third place went to Amy Payne of Leonardtown.
The Calvert County Alliance against Substance Abuse (CAASA) provided a VISA gift card for the winner of the Designated Driver Rewards drawing that was won by Dennis Baker from Lusby.
