The crash was the result of police pursuing 37-year-old Michael Richard Brown from Eastern Avenue to Joppa Road, where his vehicle tried to cross the median and crashed head-on into a car driving southbound on the interstate, according to MDTA police.
35-year-old Jason Brian Canter was riding in the front passenger seat of Brown’s car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
52-year-old Sonjia Verlene Johnson-Baker was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle that was hit by Brown’s car and died after being transported for medical treatment. Northbound lanes were closed while a medevac helicopter arrived at the scene to transport Baker for treatment.
Brown is currently facing numerous charges as a result of the incident, which started as a police chase and went over 12 miles along I-95 in Baltimore County.
