Aqua-Leisure Industries, Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall for their First Fitness Trampolines with Handlebars. This recall affects approximately 40,000 units, and the item was exclusively sold at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide from September 2010 to April 2012 for between $45 and $70. Metal fatigue can cause the handlebar to break away during use, which may pose a laceration risk from exposed metal surfaces or other injury from a fall.
The Massachusetts-based manufacturer has received four reports of handlebars breaking from the metal connection joint while in use; fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
These First Fitness Trampolines are child-size toy trampolines with a blue and red metal handlebar, black jumping deck, and a blue nylon deck guard. The trampolines can be identified by model number FF-6902TR and Toys “R” Us SKN 491463, which can both be found on the lower right corner of the back of the packaging. Consumers should immediately stop use of the product and contact Aqua-Leisure’s toll-free recall hotline at (888) 912-7087 or visit www.aqualeisure.com for a full refund.
