Two trucks collided Thursday morning at three a.m., spilling Busch beer and Frito-Lay chips on I-95 near Melbourne, FL, causing a scene that is making the rounds on Facebook and social media in general.
The truck carrying beer crashed into the chip truck that was parked on the right shoulder after stalling. When the beer truck attempted to move into the left lane, the driver had to swerve back to the right to avoid an approaching car. The crash caused the Frito-Lay truck to overturn, which caused beer and chips to spill all over the highway. There were no injuries reported but the beer truck driver has been charged with failing to maintain a single lane.
The clean up crew worked for roughly four hours cleaning up the strewn beer cans and chips. All lanes were shut down until major cleaning was done and after that only two lanes were open going North and Southbound on I-95. The clean up required a front-end loader moving the massive amount of beer and chips to the shoulders of the highway, which allowed crews to remove as much debris as possible. They were also forced to drain much of the drain beer onto the highway out of the truck.
