A crash between a passenger car and a tractor-trailer on U.S. Route 301 took the life of a Glen Burnie woman recently, according to an article from My Eastern Shore Maryland.
The fatal Maryland truck crash took place on U.S. Route 301 near the intersection with Maryland Route 405, near Church Hill, Maryland. The woman who lost her life was riding in an SUV driven by a 31-year-old man from Catonsville. With the adults in the SUV were two girls, ages 6 and 10, who were riding in the backseat.
According to onlookers, the SUV was traveling westbound on Route 405 and trying to cross Route 301when it pulled into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer that was traveling southbound on route 301. The tractor-trailer hit the passenger side of the SUV and continued into a ditch on the right side of the highway, where it rolled over. The SUV also ended up in the ditch.
Rescue workers pronounced the woman, who had been riding in the front passenger seat, dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV and the two children riding in the backseat were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. No update on their condition has been released. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
