A young mother’s death earlier this month serves as a reminder that the roads and highways can be dangerous, especially during the holiday season.
Ashley Ferguson, a 31-year-old resident of Middletown, Connecticut, was checking on her one-year-old daughter when when she was struck and killed.
Traveling south on I-95, Ferguson had pulled over to the right side of the road between exits 70 and 71 in Old Lyme to check on her daughter. She was standing by the driver’s side door of her car when a tractor-trailer hit her and the right side of the vehicle.
Ferguson’s child and the car’s other passenger were not hurt in the accident.
