A Maryland State Trooper was injured while responding to a car crash in Upper Marlboro on Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:20 a.m. Trooper Jasmine Ingram arrived to investigate the scene of a single vehicle accident on the inner loop of I-495 and Maryland Route 4 in Prince George’s County. Prior to exiting her vehicle, her patrol car was struck by a Toyota Corolla. Trooper Ingram was transported to receive medical attention at an area hospital and her injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

It does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the collision, which is still being investigated and charges are pending at this point.  The driver of the Toyota Corolla is from Florida and did not require medical attention, while the initial traffic incident Trooper Ingram was investigating did not involve any injuries.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Forestville Barrack arrived on the scene to investigate and MDOT State Highway Administration personnel closed lanes for safety and investigation.  Maryland State Police are asking that anyone with information about this traffic incident contact the Maryland State Police Forestville Barrack.
